You may be wondering, what on earth can be at all interesting about the word 'spoon' that she could choose to focus a post on it?
~Yep. Good question.
!Spoon! Spoon! Spoon!
~Please, will someone make her shut up?
--Is it bothering you?
~Is it bothering me?
--That's exactly what I said.
~I regret to inform you that your sarcasm radar is broken.
--I don't--
~And when I say regret, I mean not really.
--I--
~Because I'm being sarcastic.
!Spoon! Spoon! Spoon!
~If you say spoon one more time...
!What?! What'll you do if I say spoon one more time?!
--I regret to inform our viewers that Snark and Enthusiasm will be busy for quite some time. And when I say 'regret,' I mean regret.
The wonderful thing about the word spoon is that it has a wonderful sound to it. Based on your vocal pitch when you say it, Spoon can sound like a variety of alarms. A slightly higher pitch will get you a car door alarm--say it with me now, Spoon, Spoon, Spoon, Spoon--while a slightly lower pitch makes it sound like a resonant church bell--say it with me now, Spoon, Spoon, Spoon, Spoon.
The long and doubled 'oo' sound in spoon acts as an extended linger for the 'n' at the end. It's not easy to say spoon too quickly, because the very letters insist that you slow down and take your time. And the 'sp' sound at the beginning is so quick that it makes the rest of the word sound even slower by comparison.
Spoon is a fun word. Spoon, Spoon, Spoon, Spoon, Spoon--
~Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
